Published by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in June 2022, “Research Programme Quantum Systems: Developing Cutting-Edge Technology. Shaping the Future” establishes a strategic ten-year framework (2022–2031) that merges Photonics and Quantum Technologies under a unified roof. As the federal lead for quantum system research policy, the BMBF aims to position Germany at the global forefront in quantum computing and quantum sensors within the European framework while securing technological sovereignty, driving economic competitiveness, and promoting sustainability.
