Challenge:
Standard RGB and even SWIR/hyperspectral inspection systems break down on dark, multilayer and low-reflectance materials, producing high false-positive rates, scrap and slow line adoption.
Solution:
MAQS (Manufacturing Quantum Sensing): MAQS is a photonic and quantum-enhanced inline inspection module designed to detect micro-defects on dark, multilayer and low-reflectance industrial materials, where conventional RGB and SWIR vision systems underperform. The solution combines multispectral acquisition with timing-aware single-photon detection (SPAD) and industrial AI, delivering measurable reductions in scrap, rework and false positives. Built as a modular, retrofittable evolution of the VisionBox platform, MAQS is being advanced from TRL 5 to TRL 6 through industrial validation with industrial partners.
