Funded solution: Coher Sense UG
About the company:
Coher Sense UG is a photonics technology company based in Lübeck, Germany, developing compact optical sensing solutions based on interferometric detection principles. The company focuses on scalable and accessible photonic measurement technologies for industrial and scientific applications, including robust, high-resolution laser diagnostics for emerging quantum technologies. Its sensing platform is designed for compact integration, low power consumption and OEM scalability.
Challenge:
One of the key challenges in quantum technologies is that today’s laser diagnostics are still based on complex, laboratory-grade instrumentation that is expensive, alignment-sensitive and difficult to scale for industrial deployment.
Solution:
The funded project focuses on developing a compact, high-resolution laser diagnostic sensor tailored for quantum technologies. Based on Coher Sense’s KISA sensing platform, the project aims to create an alignment-free and scalable alternative to complex laboratory-grade laser diagnostics by combining precise wavelength and power monitoring in a compact device. The system is designed to support stable laser operation in quantum systems while significantly reducing size, complexity and cost. During the project, the technology will be further optimized, calibrated and evaluated together with quantum-technology partners under realistic operating conditions.
