About the company:
Trace Crystal is a deep tech startup developing cyber-physical authentication solutions based on unique optical fingerprints. Our core product, the CaeSaR tag, is a patented security material composed of microscopic liquid crystal spheres that exhibit intrinsic optical variability, generating non-reproducible reflection patterns. Each tag acts as a physically unclonable identifier linked to a secure digital record, enabling direct and reliable authentication of physical products.
Challenge:
A critical missing component in our authentication pipeline is an industrially viable optical readout device capable of resolving microscopic structures with high contrast, under the demanding constraints of real production environments.
Solution:
To address this challenge, we are developing a compact, dedicated optical readout system designed for high-throughput industrial authentication of CaeSaR tags. The device combines a high-resolution imaging module with customised LED-based multispectral illumination and circular polarization filtering to suppress background noise.
