Technology Support

SMEs will receive expert support on the conception and implementation of proof of concepts for photonics and quantum technology products. While feasibility studies may be funded through the Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP), general guidance and consultation on how to develop a proof of concept will be provided by the technical experts within the PhotonQBoost project.

Technology transfer in photonics and quantum technologies is a core element of PhotonQBoost, delivered through Financial Support to Third Parties (FSTP), dedicated communication activities, and this tailored service. Starting with the working groups use cases to provide an easy-to-understand basis, PhotonQBoost technical experts offer customized 1:1 online consulting to help SMEs identify the best technical solutions for their sustainability challenges. This service also provides guidance on knowledge valorisation and intellectual asset management including patenting, standardisation, licensing models, open science strategies, and confidentiality practices.

PhotonQBoost technical experts will deliver 20 online technology training sessions focused on addressing the most pressing challenges faced by SMEs can be solved using photonics and quantum technologies. In addition, six open days will be organized, giving SMEs the opportunity to explore cutting-edge R&D infrastructure through live demonstrations and full-day information sessions. These events are designed to provide hands-on experience and deepen understanding of how advanced technologies can support innovation and growth.

As an in-kind service, all participating clusters will support the matchmaking of SMEs with industry technology partners that offer the right expertise and solutions for their specific challenges.
