PhotonQBoost Open Calls provide tailored opportunities for SMEs to access funding, expertise, and networks across the Photonics and Quantum sectors.
During the project's implementation several types of calls will be launched: Matching Missions, Solutions, Pilots, and Trainings, each designed to support SMEs at specific stages of their innovation journey. Together with our advisory services, the Open Calls create a connected pathway that helps SMEs transform ideas into market-ready solutions.

Supporting cross-border collaboration by providing opportunity and travel grants for SMEs

Calls for Pilots
Developing pilots that implement Photonics and Quantum technology solutions, empowering SMEs, to achieve sustainability, resilience, and global competitiveness
Call for trainings
External services that support resilience and/or sustainability of the SMEs
Calls for Solutions
Developing new, innovative Quantum & Photonics solutions, that support EU’s policy goals, particularly the EU Green Deal and the Horizon Europe Strategic Plan
Calls will be launched in November 2025
€3.6M in Direct Support for SMEs Driving Critical Technologies
Over €3.6 million will be allocated in direct support to innovative projects. SMEs selected through the Open Calls will access funding, expert advisory services, technology support, and sustainability transition activities, unlocking new growth opportunities and strengthening Europe's strategic autonomy in critical technologies.
Through these calls, SMEs can:
- Access support services for advisory, sustainability, and technical guidance.
- Secure funding to test, develop and validate new solutions.
- Accelerate adoption of Photonics and Quantum technologies.
- Enhance long-term resilience and competitiveness in rapidly evolving markets.
